Digital companion experience
for Lonely Planet
Role:
UX/UI Designer
In 2016 I took an Interaction Design Course at School of Visual Arts NYC. In which, through a series of hands-on, studio-based exercises, I gained experience in different parts of the design process while learnt specific methods for human-centered design. The course culminated in a final project that incorporates the major principles of Interaction Design.
The Brief
Lonely Planet was looking for some top-level ideas for a digital companion piece to their Lonely Planet books and their website. They wanted it to fit nicely into their eco-system (book, apps, and website) and wanted it to be used pre, during and post travelling.
Solution
Start building a community of young travelers and introduce them to Lonely Planet by helping them connect easily.
Find other nearby lonely travelers in the moment, via gps in centralize map view:
• Filter the results through filters.
• Chat feature to connect with travelers.
• Profile customization and Instagram feed import
